Cotton does tend to shrink - especially when washed in hot water or put in the dryer. To avoid that happening, wash in cold water with like colours and air dry your cotton pieces.

One of the main downsides of cotton is that it does wrinkle more easily than most fabrics… but that can be fixed with a quick iron on medium-high heat!

To keep your cotton clothes intact, machine wash on a gentle or normal cycle in cold water with like colours. You should ideally air dry them to avoid any shrinkage. but, if you’re really short on time, put them in the dryer on a very low heat setting.

Here are some tips for washing cotton printed shirts:

• Turn inside out: Turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the print and preserve the fabric.
• Use mild detergent: Use a gentle, bleach-free detergent.
• Wash in cold water: Cold water is gentler on the fabric and helps prevent shrinkage.
• Wash separately: Sort shirts by color to avoid bleeding.
• Avoid harsh chemicals: Bleach and other harsh chemicals can damage the print and fabric.
• Air dry: Air drying is best to avoid shrinkage. If you use a dryer, use a low heat setting.
• Treat stains: Use a stain remover directly on the stain before washing.
• Don't overwash: Overwashing can fade and wear out the fabric.
• Iron on medium-high heat: Iron while the shirt is slightly damp and turned inside out.
• Steam: Use steam to release wrinkles.
